Riley's Thanksgiving began like most days. He slept in. Looks like he's sleeping pretty hard. I love that he has his back leg all stretched out and his eyes so tightly closed.
Like last year, we cooked Riley his own Cornish Hen for the holiday meal. He doesn't get that much meat because we are vegetarians, so when there is meat cooking he definitely notices the smell.
I love this moment. Dear Riley spent years of his life starving. Yet, when offered a delicious treat, he uses his soft mouth to take it from my hand. No teeth, no grabbing. He is such a gentleman.
I wish I could just put the hen on the floor and let Riley have at it. But bones are dangerous, so we de-boned the bird and have been feeding it to him as treats throughout the day. It's been a very good day.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone, from Riley and his family. We hope you were about to enjoy many treats of your own, and got to spend the day with people you love!
