A Note From the Dog
My mom laughs at me because whenever I come into the house, no matter which door I use, I always run to my bed first. Even if I’m thirsty or hungry, I’ll touch base with my bed, then go to my food and water.
In the morning, after I’ve been outside, I get a treat. But I always go to my bed first, and sometimes I’ll even stand so that I’m still touching my bed while I get my treat. I just like to know it’s there.

There were years of my life that I could only imagine a bed that was soft and clean like this. Sometimes things were so bad that I forgot that soft and clean places like this even existed. When I first got this bed I was so worried that it would disappear that I was afraid to leave it, even to eat. When that happened my mom pushed my food dishes right up next to me so I didn’t have to leave my bed to eat. I’ve gotten over that.
I’m pretty sure that no one is going to take my bed away now, but not 100% sure. I’ll never be 100% sure of anything anymore, and that is why I have to check on my bed all the time. And it’s always there.
