He wiggled happily when I approached him with the leash for a walk, we trotted around the yard for 10 or more minutes making the now routine pee deposits in all the required spots. (The dog, not me!) Then it was back inside for breakfast and morning treats. Everything seemed fine until I turned around and saw this...
So I sat on the living room floor and sighed and yawned (see previous post) and the dog came in and let me touch him. I checked his feet and they were fine, and I touched and squeezed his shoulders and hips and legs and they seemed fine, too. Then I lifted his head thinking maybe there was something on his chin or neck. He yelped. It was his neck, his neck was stiff or sore, and that was why he couldn't lift his head!
Riley was valiant and courageous. He let me touch his neck and hold his head and rub the muscles and give him kisses. And really, doggie hugs and kisses pretty much make everything better, right? Today, three days later, his neck seems fine, he's stopped creeping and crouching around the house and he's back to his old self. :-)
